LUXURY AND PERFORMANCE
In designing the Espresso Due, we paid attention to even the smallest details to create the ideal blend of performance, fit, and style. It all starts with the 4-way-stretch Windstopper® X-Fast 2 fabric for total wind and water protection while allowing for excellent breathability. A soft mesh lining is essential for the insulation and adds extra comfort.
Breathability is further enhanced by the addition of two vertical zippers down the front of the jacket, and two more zippers extending up along the wrists, allowing you to close the jacket around the cuffs of your gloves for extra warmth. The flip-up Thermoflex collar is soft and fleecy on the inside. MP3 player pocket on chest and three rear pockets are big enough to hold spare tubes, gloves, and food, while two rear reflective tabs offer increased visibility in low-light conditions.
PELOTON MAGAZINE, March 2012:
Rated from 0º to 12ºC we would give the Espresso Due a wider range of comfortable riding temperature, certainly up to 12º thanks to smart venting of the full fleece liner, zippered chest vents are complimented by open vents at the shoulders. Those shoulder vents help with overall flexibility as well making the jacket feel lighter than it actually is.
The outer fabric is wind proof with four way stretch and called water resistant. That water resistance is phenomenal, making a dedicated rain cape unnecessary on all but the wettest rides. Two beautiful touches really finish off the Espresso Due, the interior pocket with cable port over the right breast is the perfect size to safely cradle an iPhone and the zippered wrists make pulling your gloves on and off to use your touch screen a breeze. We would like to see one of the 3 back pockets zippered for a little more security.
Fit: True to Castelli, expect a tight, race oriented fit. Consider sizing up if you fit a snug medium and want to layer.
