Close to perfection

Close to perfection. Fabric and pad are top notch, as the cut. Only gripe is that the legs are actually quite short, shorter than those of the Free Aero RC for instance.
Please Castelli, make those shorts with legs as long as on the discontinued Omloop !

These shorts are excellent. The Tutto Nano version is also very good. Buy these and pair them with leg warmers and you are warm enough on all but the coldest days (you have a double layer of warmth on your thighs). They do not ride up. I am 178cm, 70-72kgs and wear a medium. I have a damaged leg and so my thighs are different sizes and they still do not ride up. I use them more as winter tights than shorts, but i have raced in them on cold days and they are very good, but it leaves you knee exposed. The bib fabric is delicate so you need to be careful. It they improved the bib material it wold be 5 stars. I have two pairs and would happily buy another.

Performance is 5 star, just price that makes it four star. The bib is quite delicate, but other than that they are superb. Autumn and spring wear them on their own. I wish that they were a few cms longer for that. Superb for racing in the off season. However, where these win out over everything is with knee or leg warmers. That gives your thigh double the warmth of normal tights. If it is really cold this is my go to choice, bin shorts and full length leg warmers. There is no need for tights in the winter. I think this design is likely to be replaced with a winter Free aero version, so get these ones while they still make them. The version down has leg grippers which make it harder to pull up leg or knee warmers if they slip. I would recommend these to any serious cyclist who rides all year. If you see them on offer get a couple of pairs.
