I really like these

I’m a 47 year old dad bod cyclist who mainly commutes but also does some longer rides when possible.
I’m 177cm, 92kg, and have always had tree trunk legs. Castelli jerseys and jackets XL is just a hair too tight, while XXL is just a hair too loose. I prefer XXL.
These were my first shorts from Castelli.
I ordered XXXL and can just fit into them. There’d be no way I could fit into XXL. They’re ever so slightly too long for me (because my bum and legs are so thick relative to my height) but that’s not a problem of the shorts. The leg tape part is just a hair longer on the back of my leg than I’d prefer but it’s not a problem at all.
These shorts feel so good. They really hug the body. I hadn’t noticed my other cheaper ones were particularly uncomfortable or anything, but these are definitely way more comfortable. I’ve lined them up against other brands to see what the difference is. It seems like one difference is the lines of stitching at the front. It seems to follow the contours of my body better. The pad is pleasantly firm. At this price point, they are not much more expensive than ‘cheap’ shorts, but they feel better.
