WINTER CYCLING CLOTHING

Our high-performance winter cycling gear is the result of the brand's continuous pursuit of innovation. Through innovative designs, advanced materials, and meticulous attention to detail, we are able to provide cyclists with maximum comfort in the coldest conditions. We use quality thermal fabrics for insulation and moisture regulation, ensuring windproof and waterproof protection. Furthermore, some of our winter cycling jackets feature a double-layer construction with an insulated inner layer for added warmth and breathability. Jackets without an insulated layer can be paired with one of our winter cycling base layers, which allows for full coverage beyond expectation even in extreme conditions.

When it comes to durability, we employ materials and construction techniques designed to withstand the rigors of cycling, even in the most challenging weather conditions, ensuring the longevity of our products. Another important aspect, especially in winter where days are shorter, is the presence of more reflective details on our garments that enhance visibility in low-light conditions.

In addition to being the result of the brand's continuous innovation, our winter cycling gear is developed in collaboration with professional athletes, whose feedback greatly helps us in meeting the demands of high-performance cycling. Our winter clothing line includes jackets, tights, base layers, jerseys, and a range of winter cycling accessories, such as gloves, shoe covers, and socks, for a perfect blend of style, functionality, and durability.

Whether you’re a professional cyclist or a dedicated enthusiast, you won't let the cold stop you anymore with our warm and comfortable winter cycling garments suitable for any ride in any condition.
Innovative technical features and premium fabrics for our winter cycling jackets.

The functionality of the double-layer construction and the warm and breathable insulating layer in Polartec® Alpha Direct fabric that characterize our Alpha collection make these jackets the best in terms of thermal insulation. If you need a jacket to keep you warm in the coldest conditions, don't hesitate to choose the Alpha Doppio RoS Jacket, the Alpha Flight RoS Jacket or the Alpha Ultimate Insulated Jacket. Unlike the others, the Alpha Doppio RoS Jacket features GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric.

The Gabba and Perfetto Collection, on the other hand, includes more versatile garments, such as the Perfetto RoS 2 Jacket and the Gabba RoS 2, which can be used in different conditions. Paired with a lightweight base layer, the Perfetto RoS 2 Jacket is ideal for mild temperatures, while worn over a thermal layer allows you to ride below zero. It also has a zippered ventilation opening on the side of the chest for increased airflow when it’s almost warm.

As for fabrics, the Perfetto RoS 2 Jacket and the Gabba RoS 2 are characterized by two different GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabrics on the front and back. The first one is water-resistant while the second one is stretchy and breathable, making them complete in every aspect.

In addition to the Alpha Collection and the Gabba and Perfetto Collection, we also offer the new Fly Collection. It is thought to make you feel like flying through our FLY Fabric Technologies (FFT), which result in warm but extremely lightweight garments. Among these, it is worth mentioning the Fly Thermal Jacket, a jacket that keeps you warm and protected from the elements on days with temperatures slightly above zero, and the Fly Jack-Sey, designed for those days with uncertain and not too cold temperatures in which you don't know if you need a jacket or just a jersey with warmers. The Fly Collection includes garments made with recycled materials.

Another jacket that we cannot fail to mention is our Beta RoS Jacket, the best jacket for mid-seasons when it's neither too cold nor too hot. It is made with the windproof, water resistant, and breathable Polartec® NeoShell® fabric, that is the outer fabric of the Alpha Ultimate Insulated Jacket.

Designed for long hours in the saddle in any conditions, our winter cycling tights are stretchy garments that keep you warm, comfortable, and protected. Nano Flex technology has revolutionized the way Castelli develops its winter garments, to the point that now all our best tights use this technology. The common denominator is the ultra-stretchy, warm, and water-repellent Nano Flex 3G fabric, which characterizes our warmest Polare 3 Bibtight and Sorpasso RoS Bibtight and our bib tights for temperatures slightly above zero: the Tutto Nano Bibtight and the Free Aero RC Bibtight.

Another exceptional fabric used in some tights, like the Semifreddo Bibtight for cool but not cold weather and our entry-level Entrata Bibtight, is the Thermoflex fabric, ideal in dry conditions but less water-resistant compared to Nano Flex fabrics.

As for the seat pad, some tights include our most comfortable Progetto X2 Air Seamless. It features a ventilated skin-care layer that keeps you cool during long rides and has a two-layer design with multi-density padding for exceptional comfort. The skin-care layer is seamless, adaptable to your body shape, and promotes air circulation for evaporation. The integrated cushioning layer uses varying foam thickness to provide padding where it's needed most. Additionally, perforated viscous padding is included under sensitive pressure areas for added comfort.
Other tights have the KISS Air2, which offers long-lasting comfort with a softer top fabric, a seamless skin care layer to reduce chafing, and stretchability. It features dual-density, variable thickness for optimal cushioning, with the highest density in the ischial zone and decreasing towards the perineum and perimeter. Additionally, its anatomical shape ensures a perfect fit during pedal strokes, enhancing overall comfort.

Like the jackets, the tights also feature reflective inserts for maximum visibility from behind, located on the ankle and the back of the leg.

Our winter cycling gloves are designed to provide warmth and protection on the coldest days of the year. Some are suitable for temperatures below zero, while others are designed for slightly higher temperatures. They feature characteristics that make them water-resistant, such as the GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric used in our warmest glove, the Estremo Glove, and in the Perfetto RoS Glove, or the Neoprene fabric with which the Diluvio C Glove is made. They also include specific types of thermal insulation, like PrimaLoft® in the Espresso GT Glove and Spettacolo RoS Glove.

In addition to protecting from cold, rain, and wind, our winter cycling gloves include reflective details that enhance visibility in low-light conditions, as well as technical features like a Silicone print on palm for a better grip.

We have designed winter cycling shoe covers able to protect your feet from cold and rain. The elastic, water-resistant, and windproof GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric, used to produce some jackets and gloves, has also been used in certain shoe cover models, such as the new Espresso Shoecover, Perfetto Shoecover, Intenso UL Shoecover, and Estremo Shoecover, which is our warmest shoe cover ever. This fabric also provides good protection from water splashes kicked up by the wheel.

We have also used other highly effective fabrics in terms of water resistance and thermal insulation. We mean Neoprene, featured in the Diluvio UL Shoecover, and Polartec® Power Stretch®, which characterizes the RoS 2 Shoecover. To make the Estremo Shoecover our warmest shoe cover ever, we had to combine the GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric with Polartec® Power Stretch®.

Furthermore, this winter we introduce the Unlimited Shoecover, designed for your off-road rides. Its warm fleece-backed fabric provides plenty of warmth, and the added DWR treatment sheds water.

When it comes to thermal insulation in clothing, the first thing that usually comes to mind is thermal base layers. At Castelli, we have designed winter cycling base layers, to be worn under a jacket, able to provide warmth and breathability beyond all expectations.

In order to ensure maximum performance while riding, we have used soft and high-quality fabrics, such as the Polartec® Alpha® 90 made with recycled material, featured in our warmest Cold Days 2nd Layer base layer, or the SottoZero Fleece Multidenier 100% polyester fabric, found in two other base layers usable at temperatures below zero, namely the Flanders Warm Long Sleeve and the Flanders Warm Neck Warmer. The latter features a higher than normal neck, which can be pulled up to act as a neck warmer.

Among the winter cycling base layers, it is also worth mentioning the Prosecco Tech Long Sleeve, designed to keep you dry in cool conditions thanks to its Prosecco hydrophilic treatment.

Made with Merino wool blend for warmth and durability, our winter cycling socks are available in various colors, patterns, and heights. Some examples are the Aperitivo 15 Sock and the Alpha 18 Sock.

As for sustainability, this winter we also have a 100% recycled polyester sock, the new Re-Cycle Thermal 18 Sock.

Keep your feet warm and comfortable during your cold rides!
