Feel nice but smaller than expected

I have bought a lot of Castelli products so know that the sizing runs smaller, but this was my first time buying socks.
I was still caught out by how small these socks are. The size guide said US shoe size 8-10 is XL. I’m 8.5 - 9.
XL just barely fits me.
They do feel nice, and seem a bit cooler than normal socks.
